This is a special plea to those who frequently roam this forum as "guests" to stop leaching files from download links here and at my website. The uploaded hot-fix/update files are meant essentially for Pacific Islands Simulation's legitimate customers who continue to support my work. Over the past few weeks I noted a stark increase in download link hits for specific hot-fixes which is 10 times more than paid customer data for each of my products. From this comparative standpoint, it is becoming ridiculously obvious that those who obtained my products through theft from torrent sites are simply and blatantly pounding me further into the dirt. It is frustrating enough to watch all my hardwork being hacked and paraded through various torrent sites, but it is more hurtful to see the same thieves hang about this forum and my website just to add more insult to injury.

For those thieves who attempt with unashamed persistency to register merely to monitor and access hot-fixes/updates, I suggest you re-think doing so since I can simply retrace your IP with follow-up hit on your system. You know who you are and you've been warned.

Again, all upload links for hot-fixes/updates are for honest legitimate customers only. I will continue to monitor stats on my server in the next few weeks and months to see if there are changes to current trend and if it becomes worse, I won't hesitate to afford stricter methods of disseminating hot-fixes/updates.

I am retired and rely heavily on sales of my products to meet monthly bill commitments, so kindly do this retiree a huge favor by buying the products instead of stealing.

Why not require that an order number be used to have access to support and updates? That seems to be how most developers handle piracy.

Yep, that's what I have in mind, but I'll have to continue monitoring data in the next few weeks to see whether it gets worse or not. Note though that hot-fixes are very small files that don't warrant inconveniencing you guys, but I'll take that route if forced to. Major updates in Service Pack format will go the usual route, ie, through all online shops that sells my products.

Thanks for the input nonetheless, bbandsma.
